課程目標 |
地質學的研究目的,是要從地球現在的構造,也就是現在地球的形狀及地球內部各種岩石的構造,利用物理學、化學及生物學的理論,推論出地球自形成以來變動的歷史。
本課程的主要內容是介紹瞭解現在地球構造的方法與技術,以及解釋地球構造所需要的基本理論。
Earth Structure is concerned with the deformation of rocks in the Earth's lithosphere. It integrates topics concerning deformation at all scales of observation, and emphasizes the linkages between structural geology and tectonics.
We can’t understand continental deformation without understanding mountains, we can’t understand mountains without understanding folding and faulting, we can’t understand folding and faulting without understanding ductile and brittle deformation mechanisms at the atomic scale.
